Welcome to the Women in Science at Rockefeller mentor program! The WISeR program plans to fulfill an unmet need within the Rockefeller community: peer-mentorship focused on career development, relationship navigation, leadership skills, and networking. These are vital skills for all scientists, both in and out of academia. This document will outline this program’s goals and the expectations of participants.

Please note, you are eligible to mentor regardless of your current status!

For Mentors

We want this to be an enjoyable experience that will develop your leadership skills, enhance your CV, and impact the life of another scientist. To help facilitate this, we will match you with a mentee and provide opportunities for you to meet with other mentors in the program. To ensure that the relationship with your mentee is productive, we ask that you do the following:

• Discuss time commitment and expectations with your mentee

• Respond to your mentee in a timely manner

• Maintain confidentiality

• Fill out a feedback form to help us improve this program in the future

For Mentees

Use this opportunity to learn skills and seek advice from someone more experienced. We will do our best to match you with someone that can provide the type of mentoring you seek. To make for good rapport, we ask that you do the following:

• Initiate meeting scheduling

• Create and discuss realistic goals with your mentor

• Maintain confidentiality

Welcome to the program!
